Ethiopian Airlines: 'Clear similarities' with Indonesia crash
Flight data from the Ethiopian Airlines disaster a week ago suggest "clear similarities" with a crash off Indonesia last October, Ethiopia's transport minister has said.
Both planes were Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
Last Sunday the Ethiopian Airlines jet crashed after take-off from Addis Ababa, killing all 157 people on board.

More than 100 dead after cyclone hits Mozambique, Zimbabwe
More than 100 people have died and many more are missing in Mozambique and neighbouring Zimbabwe on Sunday after tropical cyclone Idai barrelled across the southern African nations with flash floods and ferocious winds.
Authorities in Zimbabwe said the toll there had risen to 65 in the east of the country, while Mozambique said 48 people were killed in affected central areas, after the cyclone tore across the region on Friday and Saturday.

Facebook removed 1.5m copies of the video of the New Zealand terrorist attack in the first 24 hours after Friday’s shootings, highlighting the enormous challenge involved in keeping violent and offensive material off social networks.
Fifty people died in the attack on two mosques in Christchurch, which was livestreamed for 17 minutes on Facebook by the gunman. Although the original footage was removed after an hour and banned by the most popular social media sites, it has since been repeatedly reuploaded by other users, leaving tech companies struggling to keep it off their servers.

At least 50 killed in flash floods in Indonesia
At least 50 people have been killed in eastern Indonesia as a result of flash flooding and a landslide, Indonesia's disaster management said.
Nearly 60 people were also injured and sent to the hospital, the agency said in a news release.
As of Sunday morning, 49 of the bodies had been identified. Forty-two people were killed in the Sentani area of the provincial capital, Jayapura, Indonesia National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said. Jayapura is located in Indonesia's easternmost province, Papua, which borders Papua New Guinea.

A tanker truck leaking gasoline caught fire and caused an explosion that injured two people and sent up a huge plume visible across Los Angeles on Sunday, authorities said.
The blast reverberated through storm drains and sent manhole covers into the air, fire department officials said.

Bombing aboard train kills 3 in southwest Pakistan
Police in Pakistan say a bomb explosion aboard a moving train has killed at least three passengers and wounded seven others in the country's volatile southwest.
Officer Abdullah Jamali says the bomb went off in one of the cars of a Quetta-bound train early Sunday, damaging five cars. He says two men and a woman were killed, and that women and children were among the wounded.
